Intel – The Museum of Me

Are you on Facebook? If not, you’re a disgrace and shouldn’t be on this site. Or at least this post, because you need to be on Facebook to be able to experience the joy of it. It’s a delightful little co-branding endeavour by the super social-networking site, Facebook, and the jingle king, Intel. And look at that, about 800,000 people LIKE it. Social validation has always been a fine technique of persuasion, and it hasn’t let me down this time either. If everyone else likes it, it must be good! Or, as your parents may have used to ask you: “if that boy jumped off a cliff would you do it too?” Eh, yeah.

I’m kind of dodging the main point of the link here, because I suppose the content of it depends on how proud you are of your Facebook profile. It gives you a short but stimulating break from the hustle and bustle around you, while overwhelming the senses with nostalgia. No, that’s a complete exaggeration, but it’s still a nifty little marketing tool that genuinely is a pleasure to watch. Go on, have a go yourself. Come to the sharp, terrifying realisation that you’ve cannibalised your own life through Facebook. Then post a status update about it.
